Marcy O'Brien

Marcy was the Director of Job Placement, and an Adjunct Professor at Rockland Community College for many years. She went on to be the Director of Career Services at Dominican College. Marcy was very involved in the community, working at the local YMCA, Secretary of the Suffern Seniors, helping in the schools, and giving art lessons later on to local children. Many will remember her as a friendly face of O'Brien Chiropractic in Suffern.

Marcy is survived by her four children Kathleen Glover of Warwick, Kelly O'Hanlon of Mahwah, Tim O'Brien, and Joseph O'Brien; her sister Mary Jo Sabo, and her brother Joe Billy all of Suffern; her ten granchildren Aoife, Brent, Ross, Meredyth, Hilary, Ava, Karson, Aerin, Danny and Cody; many, many cousins, nieces and nephews; and her dog Max.

Visitation will be held at Wanamaker and Carlough Funeral Home in Suffern, NY on Monday, November 6 at 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Mahwah, NJ at 10:00 a.m on Tuesday, November 7. Burial will be private.

Marcy was an avid lover of animals particularly of dogs and horses. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to HITOR Animal Shelter or Tunnel2Towers. Also Marcy was an organ donor which has enabled her to share her gift of life and light with the world through LiveOn New York.

A visitation for Marcy will be held Monday, November 6, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, New York 10901. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 47 Island Rd, Mahwah, New Jersey 07430. A committal services private will occur.
