Maria Perillo

June 12, 1931 – July 4, 2025

Maria A. Perillo, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished member of the Airmont, NY community, passed away peacefully at home on July 4, 2025, at the age of 94.

Born on June 12, 1931, in Montecalvo Irpino, Italy, Maria was the daughter of the late Giacomo Moliterno and Gerrardina Chiancone. She immigrated to the United States, where she built a beautiful life rooted in love, family, and hard work. A talented seamstress by trade, Maria was known for her meticulous craftsmanship and her warm, generous spirit.

She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Beniamino Perillo, in 2003, and by her brother Mario Moliterno. Maria is survived by her loving children: her son John and his wife Nancy Perillo, and her daughter Claudia Perillo and her husband James Guardino. She also leaves behind her dear brother Adriano and his wife Sara Moliterno.

Maria was the proud grandmother of Jeffrey and Nicole Perillo, Stephanie and Ryan Harris, and James and Nicole Guardino, Jr. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Nate and Zach Perillo, Kaylea and Jack Harris, and James Guardino III.

Maria found joy in life’s simple pleasures—knitting, cooking, shopping, and most of all, doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her warmth, strength, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

🕯️ Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY. ✝️ A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 11, 2025, at 11:15 AM at Church of The Presentation, 271 W. Saddle River Road, Upper Saddle River, NJ 07458.

Entombment will follow the funeral mass at Ascension Cemetery, 650 Saddle River Rd, Airmont, NY 10952, on July 11, 2025, from 12:30 pm to 12:45 pm.
