It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Marie Anne Dubois Jacquet, who peacefully departed this world on January 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Haiti on June 11, 1937, Marie was the first in her family to immigrate to the United States, where she worked tirelessly as a nurse’s aide to bring the rest of her loved ones to America. She was a proud resident of the U.S. for 44 years, where she made a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Marie was united in marriage to Hildebert Jacquet on July 29, 2006. Together, they shared a life full of love, joy, and devotion. Marie's heart was as big as her family, which she cherished deeply. She was the proud mother of Frank Salomon, Hubert Salomon, Margareth Dubois, Merson Malivert, Fabiola Montissol, Mirlene Larose, and Marie Echevarria. She was the adored grandmother of Ingrid N Dubois, Patricia G. Gateau, Steve Davidson Salomon, David Salomon, Patricia Malivert, Darnel Salomon, Karaine Montissol, Sashaine Salomon, Frederic Francois Jr., Angeline F. Francois, Frederic Hamlet Francois, Yves Montissol, Mirlie Angelica Larose, Eder Larose, Evelyne S. Larose, and Robinson Lamisere. Her great-grandchildren, Chase Chandler, Serenity-Marie Marshall, and Khari Elijah Francois, brought her immense joy.
Marie was known for her selflessness and hospitality, always welcoming friends and family with open arms and the famous phrase, "Come in my son." She loved to care for those around her, always asking, "Did you eat?" and constantly checking in on loved ones with phone calls several times a week. A peacemaker at heart, Marie was the glue that held the family together, offering wisdom, support, and love to all.
Her home was a testament to her love for her family, as she would proudly display pictures of her loved ones on the walls, a constant reminder of the deep connections she held dear. She was also an avid fan of her favorite TV shows, including All My Children, General Hospital, Walker Texas Ranger, and Rambo.
Marie had a zest for life. She enjoyed shopping at her favorite stores—Ross, Macy’s, TJ Maxx, and Costco—and had a deep love for gardening and taking long walks. And, of course, she always had a smile on her face as she danced to Kompa music at family gatherings, making everyone feel welcome and loved.
Marie’s legacy of love, devotion, and unwavering support will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. Now it is our turn to say, "We have always loved you more."
A funeral service in her honor will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Sinai French Seventh-day Adventist Church, 7 Johnson St, Spring Valley, NY 10977. Entombment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Airmont, NY.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.
