Marie Carmel Paul was born January 15, 1937 to Alice and Verdul Armand in Damien, Haiti. She was highly engaged in the nunnery, a devoted Catholic, master seamstress, chef in her own right, health aide, donor to Family Radio, and exemplified a deep passion for helping and loving people.
She worked at the Caring Agency, Letchworth Village, and personal home aide for over 25 plus years. She retired and enjoyed time with family, writing / sending cards to family and friends, calling to check on family & friends, cooking, going to the beach / vacation, and engaging in church.
Marie Carmel Paul transitioned on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at the age of 89. Marie is survived by her husband, Andre Sr., four sons: Mozart, Andre Jr., Newton, and Marcus of New York; five grandchildren (Mozart Jr., Stella, Vivian, Julia, Penelope) and two great-grandchildren (Mozart III and Micah). Sibling; Rose Toussaint and a host of nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
Visitation will be held at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901, US, on September 11, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St Ann's Catholic Church Nyack, 16 Jefferson St, Nyack, NY 10960, US, on September 12, 2026, at 10:00 am.
Entombment Following Funeral Mass will be at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, 36 W Nyack Rd, Nanuet, NY 10954, US, on September 12, 2026.
