

Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank A. Banas, Jr., who passed on February 17, 2007. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and devotion.
She is survived by her siblings Alice Wheeler and Raymond Gloc and her five loving children: Susan Farrell; Shari Jennings and her husband Wayne; Frank A. Banas, III; Mary Ann Banas; and Melissa Banas. She was an adoring grandmother to Haylee Rose and Wayne Evan, who brought her immense joy and pride.
Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved her grandchildren dearly and was a devoted family woman who always put her children first. She had a special gift for making people feel welcomed and valued, treating her friends as if they were members of her own family. Her warmth, kindness, and generous spirit touched all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:15 a.m.following the visitation at the Church of the Presentation, 271 Saddle River Road, Upper Saddle River, NJ. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, NY.
Mary’s legacy of love, faith, and family will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
