

Mary Louise Gisonno, age 82, of Sloatsburg, passed away Wednesday June 17, 2026. She was born to Rocco and Rose Gisonno. She was raised in Sloatsburg and graduated from Suffern High School. She began working for Suffern School District right after high school and was employed there until her retirement. Her secretarial skills were exceptional and she took pride in her work. She was a cherished member of her school family.
The majority of her life was spent in the parish of St. Joan of Arc in Sloatsburg, NY. where she was a devoted member along with her parents and family. She worked tirelessly for the religious program.
Mary Louise was dedicated to her Catholic Faith. She was a Parishioner at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Mahwah. She was a Eucharistic Minister for 23 years. Mary Louise was a very special part of The Sisters Of Our Christian Doctrine. She was loved by all of them and they spent many special times together.
Mary Louise loved to travel, and she was very independent and loved to laugh and have a good time. She loved her cats and doted on them. She was a true and loyal friend, and could always be counted on when someone was in need of help.
Family was very important to her. She spent quality time with her parents, grandparents, brother and sisters, and especially her nieces and nephew. She especially loved birthday parties, school and religious events, weddings, and all holidays with her family.
Mary Louise was predeceased by her parents Rocco and Rose Gisonno, her sisters Rosemarie Kauer and Rae Menzie, and her brother Carmen Gisonno. She is survived by her nieces and nephew, and their families. She is also survived by many special good friends who have always meant so much to her.
Mary Louise loved to travel, and she was very independent and loved to laugh and have a good time. She loved her cats and doted on them. She was a true and loyal friend, and could always be counted on when someone was in need of help.
Visitation will be held at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901, US, on July 3, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, followed by a Funeral Service at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, 47 Island Rd, Mahwah, NJ 07430, US, on July 3, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
