Mary Catherine Nervegna

Cathy was born to Walter and Rita (nee Wegener) Heil in Wausau, Wisconsin on December 9th, 1946. She grew up on a dairy farm, attended local schools, and received a BA degree from Viterbo College in La Crosse, Wisconsin. She arrived on the east coast in 1971, married her husband, Thomas, in 1972 and became a resident of Rockland County in 1973. She was known by all for her love of both her children and grandchildren, while gardening and the outdoors gave her much peace and joy. Her career included preschool and elementary teaching, substitute teaching and CCD teaching.

She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas, their three children, Tim (Jen), Kevin (Leslie), and Patti (Todd) as well as nine grandchildren: Emily, Kaitlyn, Tyler, Evelyn, Thomas, Michael, Madelyn, Alisyn and Gracelyn. In Wisconsin she is survived by her mother, Rita, eleven brothers and sisters and 41 nieces and nephews.

Visitation Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9pm at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home 177 Route 59 in Suffern. Funeral Mass Wednesday 11am at Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River. Committal Private.
