Matthew F. Conachey of Pomona NY passed away on June 13, 2010 at age 78. He was born in the Bronx to the late Patrick and Agnes (Gallagher) Conachey of Co. Louth Ireland. A graduate of Cardinal Hayes High School. He was a retired printer and a member of the NY Typographical Union. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War and enjoyed seeing the world. He loved music and played the clarinet. He marched with his high school band in the NY St. Patrick's Day Parade. He is survived by his loving wife Eileen, sons Robert (Shirley), Thomas (Barbara), daughter Susan (Kajetan), and five grandchildren; Andrew, Kajetan, Fiona, Amara and Markus. He is also survived by his sister Sheila Geoghrig, two nephews and one niece. Visitation will be Wed. June 16th 2-4PM and 7-9PM at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home in Suffern. Mass of Christian Burial will be June 17th at 10 AM at St. Boniface Church in Wesley Hills. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont NY. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association.
