

He was born in Fontanarosa, Italy on March 28, 1946. Modestino Ruggiero graduated from Suffern High School. He served his country as a Sergeant in the Army with the 82nd Airborne Division in the Vietnam for 16 months.
Modestino worked as a hairdresser in his own salon for over 50 years. He had a passion for all sports, playing volleyball, playing poker every Sunday, watching westerns, feeding the birds but most of all spending time with his grandkids.
He was survived by his children Nicolina Ruggiero, Angelina Ruggiero and Lisa Loughlin (husband Andrew Loughlin). His grandchildren Eric O’Neal, Sean Loughlin and Samantha Loughlin. His brother Pasquale Ruggiero (wife Pina Ruggiero) and sister Rosa Ruggiero.
A visitation (please adhere to all nys doh mask requirements) for Modestino will be held Monday, January 31, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, New York 10901. A visitation (please adhere to all nys doh mask requirements) will occur Monday, January 31, 2022 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, 177 Route 59, Suffern, New York 10901. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 12:30 PM at Sacred Heart Church, 129 Lafayette Ave, Suffern, New York 10901. An interment will occur Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Ascension Cemetery, 650 Saddle River Rd., Airmont, New York 10952.
