Muriel Dorothy Welsh was born August 20, 1928 to Mae and Victor in Bayonne, New Jersey. She married the love of her life, Roy F Jaekel, on June 19, 1948 at St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Jersey City, New Jersey. They were married for 52 beautiful years before Roy predeceased her on October 9, 2000. Muriel was a member of the Rainbow Girls and later became a member of the Eastern Star, where she remained a member for 56 years. She worked as a typesetter for over 16 years, where she would proofread and type cookbooks and educational books. Muriel was a talented crafter. She enjoyed cross-stitching, pottery and painting. She belonged to two seniors clubs, one in Ramapo and one in Suffern, New York. Muriel was a member of the Aruba Beach Club for 40 years. She loved her yearly trips and looked forward to seeing her friends. Muriel was predeceased in death by both of her children, Gary R. Jaekel in 2005, and Vickie Gail Ware in 2009. Muriel is lovingly survived by four grandchildren, Carissa, Aaron, Sheena Mae, Theo; and also one great granddaughter, Stormie Gail.
She will be laid to rest at George Washington Cemetery with her beloved husband Roy.
