Norwood W. (Sam) Ernst of Vero Beach, Florida formerly of Suffern, New York, died June 9th 2014. Norwood (Sam) was born in Suffern on March 27, 1930 to the late William G. Ernst and Lenore Foley-Ernst. He retired after many years as a Construction Supervisor for Sheldon Goldstein. He graduated Suffern High School and went on to graduate St. Lawrence University. He served in the Army during the Korean War and was a Mason and Shriner.
He is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 25 years Ellen Ernst, son Jeffrey Ernst and grandson Zachary Ernst, Stepson Ronald Gorton and grandsons Mathew and Michael Gorton.
Graveside service will be held Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 11am at Airmont Cemetery, Airmont, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the VNA Hospice House of Vero Beach, 901 37th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
