

Patrick Buccan Chapman was born on January 19, 1970 to mother, Gloria West and father Patrick Chapman in St. Ann Jamaica West Indies. They moved to Kingston Jamaica, where he attended Bridgeport primary school in Portmore. He enjoyed some of his summers back in St. Ann with his great grandmother, aunt and cousins.
Patrick migrated to the United States in 1981 where he joined his mother and his two older sisters Maxine and Petula in Spring Valley. They were later joined by their younger sisters, Kimberlene and Kayon when they moved to Nyack. They all first attended The Church of God of Prophecy in Spring Valley, then branching off on her own his mother started a church in their living room, which is known today as Spring Valley New Testament of God Church which his mother the Late Pastor Gloria West became the head pastor in 1996.
Patrick attended Margetts Elementary school, Pomona Middle school, Ramapo High school and graduated from Nyack High school. He attended Farmingdale College and St. Francis College pursuing an aviation and business degree. Patrick has met a multitude of friends throughout his schooling years and has kept in contact with most of them until his passing.
Patrick married and moved to Queens producing four beautiful children Kirkpatrick, Kamani, Kaeja and Kejana. Family meant everything to him. He faithfully traveled back-and-forth to practices, game, tournaments, and dance recitals never missing a chance to support his children. His presence in the stands,on the sidelines and in the audience was a constant reminder of his love, dedication and pride and all the accomplished.
Patrick was a Market Research Call Center Director allowing him to travel all over the United States and the world Aruba, Bahamas, England, Haiti to name a few. After the resolution of his marriage, Patrick found the love of his life, Stephanie. They shared many happy years together and were engaged to be married.
Patrick was an advid music lover. He cherish the comfort, inspiration and connections that music brought to his life and anyone around him. He was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Knicks. One of his greatest joys was living long enough to watch the Knicks win The Championship before his passing.
Patrick leaves behind his fiancé Stephanie Wellington of NY his son Kirkpatrick Chapman and his wife Janai Chapman of TX, son Kamani Chapman of GA, daughters Kaeja Chapman, Kejana Chapman of NY and grandchildren Lenyx, Layla, and Lira of TX Stephanie‘s daughter Aaliyah Wellington of NY, Stephanie’s son Ortiz Wellington and his wife Christynah Wellington of NY Stephanie’s grandchildren J’Nylah, Aryanah, Giyannah of NY, sister Maxine Stewart her husband Karl Stewart of GA, sister Petula Cooke of GA, sister Kimberlene Chambers of GA, Kayon Cummings and her husband Hayden Cummings of NY and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins aunts, uncles, extended family and friends. Patrick is predeceased by his mother Pastor Gloria West and grandmother Eva Christie West.
Visitation will be held at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901, US, on July 10, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and again from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will take place at First Timothy Christian Church, 198 N Main St, Spring Valley, NY 10977, US, on July 11, 2026, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.
A Committal Service will follow at The Brick Church Cemetery, 221 Brick Church Rd, Spring Valley, NY 10977, US, on July 11, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.
