Peter Truffa

Peter was born to Tersillo and Carolina (Balliano) Truffa in Grana, Italy on January 28, 1921. He came to the United States in 1938.

Peter served in the US Army's Signal Corps in the Aleutian Islands and India during WWII. Peter married his beloved wife Marie (Rossi) Truffa on June 2, 1946. They were married for 68 years.

As a builder / developer Peter built many homes in South Spring Valley and later owned and operated the Farmer Jones Feed & Garden Center also in South Spring Valley.

Peter will be dearly missed by his loving wife Marie, loving sons Thomas and wife Catherine, Raymond and wife Beth, adored grandchildren Peter, Scott and wife Maribeth, Jaclyn and husband Robert, Melissa and husband Kevin, Jessica and husband Brandon, Tracy and husband Shawn, 6 cherished great grandchildren, caring sister Irma Gazzola and brother Richard and wife Pamela as well as many dear nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2014 from 2-4PM & 7-9PM at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 10AM at St. Anthony’s Church, Nanuet, NY. Interment will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.
