Phyllis Joy Giordano

Phyllis Joy Giordano of Wesley Hills, NY passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on Friday, September 24, 2021 at the age of 84. Phyllis was born to George and Susan (Jones) Beutel on February 1, 1937 in Monsey, NY. Phyllis married the love of her life James Giordano on August 20, 1955. James and Phyllis were married for 65 years before James’ passing in September 2020.

Phyllis was a lifelong resident of Rockland County. She was a devote catholic. Phyllis was an avid gardener and enjoyed being outside in her yard. She had a passion for cooking but most of all loved being with her grandchildren and family.

Phyllis is survived by her loving children James Giordano (Gregg Griswold), Theresa Johnson (Wesley), Donald Giordano, Donna Schmidt (Karl), and Maria Lasofsky (Michael), cherished grandchildren Nicholas, Elizabeth, and Vincent Johnson, Michael Jr., and Andrew Lasofsky, and Stephen Schmidt, and by adored great grandchildren Michael James III, and Amelia. Phyllis is also survived by her brother Bill, and sisters Vivian and Audrey.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021 from 4-7PM at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM on Tuesday, September 28th at Sacred Heart Church in Suffern, NY with burial to follow at Brick Church Cemetery, 221 Brick Church Rd., New Hempstead, NY 10977.
