Pierre Edugene

Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to Agnes Blain and Emmanuel, gifted artist and painter Pierre Edugene was a quiet force whose presence spoke louder than words. As one of five children, Pierre enjoyed his youth alongside his brothers Felix, Luc, and Etzer, and his sister Paulette. During adolescence, Pierre was well known at the Centre d'Art in Haiti, where his talent and creativity flourished. After immigrating to New York in November 1968, Pierre built a life rooted in hard work, family, and quiet strength. He worked for many years as a machinist at American Talc Factory in Monsey, New York, and proudly showcased his artwork in exhibitions at Rockland Community College, the New City Library, and American Talc.

Pierre shared wisdom with gentleness, offered calm in difficult moments, and loved deeply through his actions. A traditional father and hardworking man, he found great pride in his family and in the beauty he created through his paintings and in his storytelling.

He is lovingly remembered by his five children: Pierre Michael Edugene, Pierre Antoine "Tony" Edugene, Christine Edugene, Jean Phillip Edugene, and Luc Donald Edugene; his two cherished granddaughters, Aryana and Makayla; and his former wife, Evelyn Francois Edugene. Though their marriage ended, they continued to share a deep care and respect for one another throughout the years. He is also survived by his older sister Paulette, 98, who still resides at home in Haiti.

Pierre's legacy lives on through the lives he touched, the art he created, and the love he reverently gave. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Visitation will be held at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901, US, on August 1, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at 6:00 pm also at the funeral home.
