Rene Faustin Rosene was born on May 15, 1939, in Bainet, Haiti. He was a strong, fearless, caring, and supportive man whose life was defined by family, hard work, courage, faith, and perseverance.
Rene built his life through determination and sacrifice. His journey from Haiti to America was a remarkable one. Before migrating to the United States, he worked as an auto mechanic on cruise ships, traveling throughout the Caribbean, including the Bahamas, Martinique, and St. Thomas. Through his skills, hard work, and determination, he provided for his family while building a better future.
Eventually, Rene made his way to the United States, where he continued to work tirelessly to build a better life for those he loved. But Rene's dream was never only about himself. He made sure to go back for each of his siblings, using his own money to help bring them to America as well. That was who Rene was - a man who never forgot where he came from and who made sure that no one he loved was left behind.
He continued to work hard throughout his life, always making sure his family was cared for. A proud family man, Rene was blessed with his devoted wife, Marie Ena Rosene, and their seven children. His legacy continues through his 20 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, who will carry his love, strength, and wisdom forward for generations to come.
Rene's journey was not always easy, but he faced life's challenges with the same fearlessness and strength that those closest to him will always remember. Through years of dedication to his craft, he became known as one of the best local mechanics in Spring Valley. He was the person people could turn to when they needed help, and his knowledge, reliability, and willingness to serve others earned him the respect and trust of his community.
Rene was also a member of the Freemasons, an organization whose values of brotherhood, service, and fellowship were meaningful to him. Beyond his work and responsibilities, Rene enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved dancing to Kompa and playing dominoes, and he had a special way of bringing humor, warmth, and personality into every gathering. His presence could make people smile, laugh, and feel at ease.
Rene will always be remembered for his faith, caring heart, strength, wisdom, and devotion to his family and friends. One of his many gifts was the spirituality and wisdom he brought into the lives of those around him. He had a way of leaving people a little wiser than he found them.
If you needed support, you could always count on Rene to be there. Yet, even in the midst of life's challenges, he knew how to remind you not to take life too seriously. Many will remember hearing him say, “Take it easy, OK!” or “Not too bad, not too good,” words that reflected his unique way of reminding us to keep perspective and that life is meant to be lived.
Those He Leaves Behind Rene is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Marie Ena Rosene; his brothers, Serge Rosene and Presot Rosene; and his sister, Roselaine Rosene.
He leaves behind his seven beloved children: Elza Trenard, Elsie Michel, Renel Rosene, Walliang Rosene, Patrick Rosene, Fabiola Kedzic, and Enide Vandunk.
He is also survived by his 20 grandchildren: Jessanelle Trenard, Shanelle Trenard, Kaprielle Trenard, Isabelle Michel, Deanna Michel, Stephanie Rosene, Kimberly Rosene-Alexis, Renel Rosene Jr., Jackeem Rosene, Najee Rosene, Walliang Rosene Jr., Enya Rosene, Raelah Rosene, Jayda Rosene, Caleb Rosene, Daniel Rosene, Jonathan Kedzic, Kahlil Guerrier, Isaiah Vandunk, and Jasmin Vandunk.
His legacy continues through his six great-grandchildren: Kalem Wellington Saxon, Kadence Lisa Saxon, Joachim Jaymee Alexis Jr., Brayden James Cortez, Bryleigh Adaya Rosene, and Raphael Noble Rosene.
Rene was predeceased by his beloved sisters, Christianne Rosene and Savina Rosene.
Though Rene has departed this life, he will always be remembered as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and patriarch – a man who imparted his strength, wisdom, faith, and love onto all those fortunate enough to know him. His journey may have come to an end, but his legacy lives on in his family, in the lives he touched, and in the lessons he left behind. His love lives in us forever. May Rene Faustin Rosene rest peacefully and eternally.
