On December 13th, 2014 Richard Hugo Flack of 111 Lime Kiln Road Suffern, New York joined his lovely wife Joan C. Flack in heaven where they are at long last together again. For the last year in a half Dick had been residing at Sunrise Assisted Living, where he was a resident of their Reminiscence division. From day one Dick was welcomed with open arms, and was deeply cared for.
Mr. Flack is survived by his devoted daughter Heidi and son in law Bob Jacob, and his four incredible grandchildren; Marla , Hannah, Norah and Tucker. His remarkable son Peter Hugo, and daughter in law Sally P. Flack.
Dick was a retired Art Director in New York City, and his creative career spanned decades; while working for a variety of prestigious advertising agencies such as: McCann Erickson, Tatum Laird and Kudner and the William Esty & Company. His talent was unmatched. Dick’s creative legacy lives on in his inspiring art collection.
Dick always found pleasure in the simple things. A beautiful sunny day, a long drive along the coast and the quiet company of family and friends. His calm and loving demeanor was a comfort to all who had the honor of being in his presence. With a sparkle in his eye, and a quirky smile that could light up a room Dick had a way with words. One of his favorite nuggets of advice went something like this. “Go to nice places, meet nice people”. He always kept it simple and smart.
Richard Hugo Flack will never be forgotten and will always be remembered as a man who had a high regard for integrity, honesty and unconditional love. Dick is the definition of a life well lived.
In Lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations sent to: Alzheimer’s.org. There a memorial contribution can be made.
Forever in our hearts and minds.
