Robert Charles Hooper

Robert Charles Hooper, formerly of Suffern, NY, and a current resident of Lavallette, NJ, passed away on September 11, 2024, in Lavallette. Born on August 3, 1947, in Nyack, NY, Robert was 77 years old.

Robert is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Patricia Hooper (Hackett). He is also cherished by his daughters Mary Kechejian (Eric) and Kelly Hooper, and his beloved grandchildren Isabella, Matthew, Nicholas, and Mary. He leaves behind his brother Kevin Hooper and sister April Kelly. Robert was predeceased by his sisters Susan and Judy, and his parents Robert and Dorothy (Babcock) Hooper.

A passionate golfer and athlete, Robert was also a proud Air Force veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He was a dedicated family man, whose love for his family was evident in everything he did. Robert had a deep affinity for the beach, which led him to move to Lavallette, NJ, in 2018. He worked as a building inspector for the Town of Ramapo and retired from the position after many years of service.

Robert's memory will be honored with a memorial visitation on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 4 to 8 PM at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home. A memorial funeral mass will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Suffern, NY, with the committal of ashes to follow at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, NY.
