My Uncle Bob was a shining example of God’s light.
Being the oldest cousin of a close christian family who worked very hard to survive during the Depression era
I was taught education and hard work and committment to God is how we better ourselves
My grandmother taught us its not what you are it’s how you behave that counts and education is how you rise out of poverty 
we spent our time together as a young child at church cooking for church luncheons and Uncle Bob became as all my Uncles and Aunts in the family not just speakers of our religion but “ doers”
My Uncle Bob was beyond that example and i’m so happy he set that example for all of us as well
God had me in his hands to be raised by him and the rest of his family

Such a great man.  He will be missed.

So sorry to hear of your loss!  I always had the greatest respect and love for your father… I was a young officer when he was my Divisional Commander back in Easyern New York and he was true pastor and leader to me.  He helped me to walk through the early days of my officership guiding me through my initial steps and then supporting me through some very tough days.  I will always be grateful to him and he will hold a special place in my life!  I am thankful to God for bringing me under his leadership!

Our first memory of the then  Major Robert Watson was his arrival at our quarters while he was on a "whirlwind tour" of meeting with each of his officers as Divisional Commander in Eastern New York, all within the first month or so of his appointment.   It was the first indication that he was to become as much as the Pastor as he was the Divisional Commander.  The Eastern New York Division then became Empire State, and it was our blessing to have him continue in leadership for a number of years.  At some point in an Officer's Councils he preached on Proverbs 22:23:  "Know the state of your flocks and put your heart into caring for your herds."  It struck a chord deep in our hearts, never to be forgotten of the responsibility and privilege we had to pastor our own flocks and follow as per Major Watson's message that day.  What blessings we received under his leadership, and his dear wife as well.

I will always remember Commissioner introducing himself to me our first Sunday at Clearwater Corps, “Hi. I’m Bob. We are so glad you are here!” I knew he was a retired Commissioner but he (and Alice) simply wanted to be my friend. No ranks. Just Jesus! And it was always a blessing to see him pray with the whosoever at the altar each Sunday. He gently shared Jesus with everyone he met. What a beautiful life and testimony of Gods unfailing, agape love! You are all in my prayers during this time.

He was a man of compassionate and had a great love for God and people.  I can remember to this day, 36 years later the visits he made to my parents when they were going through a very difficult and eventually terminal illness.  He was there for them, supportive of them and praying with and for them.  He supported and sent me to training many years ago and I have appreciated his leadership over the years.  I thank the Lord for the wonderful man of God Commissioner was and for his servant leadership.  We all have been blessed for many years to know him.  Blessings and Prayers to the Watson family.  You are loved and prayed for especially during this very difficult time of loss.

My Uncle Bob and Aunt Alice and all my family officers and church members  were amazing  people and taught me  through their example how to be not only a Christian  but to follow Jesus example of sacrifice and fortitude 
My family gave me so much 
and Uncle Bob was our leader but all my uncles were a shining example of the Lords light
Thank you Grandmom for becoming a Salvationist and taking me under your wing and all of my family for your  love . Uncle Bob You are in my heart 
I will see you in heaven.
