It is with great sadness that the Steckler family announces the passing of Scott Paul Steckler. On Sunday March 25, 2018 while breaking up his drive to visit his parents in sunny Florida, Scott passed away suddenly and completely unexpectedly just 5 days before his 59th birthday. He died in South Carolina from a massive heart attack. Scott was currently residing in his new home located in Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania. Scott will forever and lovingly be remembered by his devoted wife Susan Steckler, his daughters Jennifer Steckler Torres-Diaz and Tara Steckler who were his pride and joys. In addition, his grandchildren Logan, Shayla and Tyson, who brought more happiness to Scott than words could possibly convey will miss him deeply. Also surviving Scott are his sister Sheri Ann Steckler and brother Andrew Blake Steckler, and finally, his parents Michael J. Steckler and Florence Deanna Behrens Steckler. Scott will also be forever remembered and truly missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, step children, step grandchildren, dear friends and co-workers. Ironically, Scott was a tin knocker by trade, to all who knew him, he was our “Man of Steel”, both literally and metaphorically.
A celebration of Scott’s life will be held on Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 12:00-3:00pm. at the Wanamaker and Carlough Funeral Home, 177 NY 59, Suffern, NY 10901.
The celebration and story telling of Scott’s life will continue at the home of Scott’s most favorite sister at 208 Mountainview Ave, Nyack, NY 10960. All those who knew Scott must keep in mind that our self appointed protector will be looking down on us and continuing to protect all he loved. The “Mighty Steck” will be in our hearts always.
