Socorro was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 15th, 1936 she is the daughter of Jose Romero and Eugenia Torres de Romero.
Socorro worked as a Para professional at Jane Addams High School in the Bronx for over 20 years. She enjoyed cooking and gardening with her family.
Socorro is survived by her husband Raul Jimenez Jr, daughters Kathryn, Laura, Josephine (Samuel) and Margaret (Robert). Her brothers Hector Romero and Harold Romero and sister Hilda Romero, also her grandchildren Daniel, Thomas, Jasmine, Ciara, Emily and Charlotte, and other family and friends.
Socorro is preceded in death by her daughters, Karen and Cynthia, her parents Jose and Eugenia Romero and her brother Jose Luis.
A mass in her honor will be held at Church of the Presentation, 271 West Saddle River Road, Upper Saddle River, New Jersey 07458 on Saturday, February 11th at 11am. Private committal to follow.
