A good name… the essence of who you are. And Stuart Turner reflects a life well lived, a person who believed in reaching out and extending a hand to family, to others and to causes. Always with a smile and often advice, Stuart spent a great deal of time with his sons, Jordan and Mark and granddaughters, Jadyn and Zoe. He shared travel, ballet, love of NYC, the outdoors, and most of all, joy, love, and compassion with Ruth, his wife.
A second passion was his career as a city planner. His firm Stuart Turner Associates and later career choices reflected his belief that the environment was important and where and how one lived mattered. He approached his work with total honesty and commitment. While his profession required long hours, Stu still devoted many hours to another passion, as an active member of Orange County Land Trust. Faith was important to Stu and he was an active member of Beth Haverim Shir Shalom in Mahwah, NJ.
Funeral services will be Sunday, April 23 at 12:00, at Beth Haverim Shir Shalom 280 Ramapo Valley Road Mahwah, NJ. Interment to follow at Beth Israel Cemetery Woodbridge, NJ.
Shiva, also at Beth Haverim Shir Shalom, will be April 23-25 from 6-9pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in Stu's honor to Temple Beth Haverim Shir Shalom (https://www.bethhaverim.org/donations/) or Orange County Land Trust (https://www.oclt.org/donate/).
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.wanamakercarlough.com for the Turner family.
