November 2, 1969 – October 31, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Venieuse Sylvain Megie, a devoted mother, sister, aunt, and friend, who peacefully passed away on October 31, 2025, at the age of 55. Venieuse was born on November 2, 1969, and spent her life with an unwavering dedication to her family, her faith, and her community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Venieuse was a loving and courageous mother to three children: Jeff Louisme, Fabrice Laplante, and Saphyre Megie. She was also a cherished mother-in-law to Patricia Zulme-Louisme. Above all, Venieuse’s love for her children and grandchildren knew no bounds. Her home was a sanctuary where love, laughter, and warmth flourished, and she always placed the needs of others before her own.
Her beloved grandchildren, Isabelle Helexa Louisme, Denali Noella Laplante, and Jamir Louisme, brought her immeasurable joy, and she treasured each moment spent with them.
Venieuse was also a proud sister, leaving behind her siblings: Rose Angèle Faustin-Barthelemy (and her husband, Erick Faustin, and their children, Angela Faustin and Junior Faustin), Marie-Ervy Sylvain-Pierre (and her children, Junior Pierre and Raphaël Germain), Venise Sylvain, Cateline Chevelier (and her children), Marco Chevalier (Kenzou), and Yorkyng Chevalier (and their children).
Her maternal aunt, Marie Ange Caseneuve, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, will carry her memory forward. Special mention must also be made of her dear friends, Pierre Phillipe Sylla, who was by her side during her illness and in her final moments, as well as Elex Louime, André Emmanuel Megie, and all those who provided love and support throughout her life.
Venieuse was a woman of deep faith and devotion. A devout Catholic, she loved God with all her heart and devoted herself to prayer, always seeking to bring others closer to God. She actively participated in prayer meetings, both in person and online, and her unwavering faith gave her the strength to fight the challenges she faced. She was a unifier, someone who brought together family and friends in both joyous and difficult times, creating bonds that will last beyond her earthly presence.
Professionally, Venieuse worked as a nurse, dedicating her life to the care and well-being of others. Her compassion and selflessness left an indelible mark on everyone she met. She gave of herself without hesitation, helping others in their time of need, and was admired for her deep love for the profession and the people she cared for.
In her battle against illness, Venieuse showed immense courage and strength. Though her fight was long and difficult, she remained hopeful, trusting in God's plan. She has now completed her earthly mission and joins her beloved sisters in heaven, where she will be reunited with those who left us too soon.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 5-9pm at the Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Rt. 59, Suffern, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, November 21, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Church in Spring Valley, NY. Burial will follow at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, NY.
Venieuse’s legacy is one of unconditional love, compassion, and faith. Her memory will live on in the lives of her children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. We take comfort in the knowledge that her love and light will continue to shine in all of us.
