Viola I. Duffy of Airmont, NY passed away at home at the age of 88. Viola was born to Howard and Alice Brideau in New Brunswick, Canada on August 16, 1930. She was married to her beloved husband Thomas E. Duffy until his passing in February 2015. Viola was a devote Catholic and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Suffern, NY. She was a member of the Airmont Gardens Poker, Bingo, and knitting clubs.
Viola is survived by her seven children, Thomas Duffy, Josephine Black, Alice Duffy, Howard Duffy, Irene Duffy-Rando (Dennis), Maryann Pagliocca (Joseph), and Elizabeth Arnold (Hank); 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and by her brothers and sisters Jeanette Trodden, Grace Malandrino, Diane Gagliardi, Ernie Brideau, Alvin Brideau, Norman Brideau, Henry Brideau, and Katherine Lingardo. Along with her husband Thomas E. Duffy, Viola was preceded in death by her siblings Gertrude Lazzario, Annmarie Buscetto, and Leo Brideau, by her granddaughter Alicia Black, and by her son-in-law Joe Black.
Visitation will be held at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY on Monday, April 29, 2019 from 4-8pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, Suffern, NY at 10am on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 with the interment to follow at FW Loescher Veterans Cemetery in New Hempstead, NY.
