Walter Camargo, age 66, of Suffern, NY, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2014 in Saratoga National Park. Walter was born on May 2, 1948 in Ponce, Puerto Rico to Santiago Camargo and Noemi Rivera. Walter served in the US Navy during the Vietnam era and was retired from Manhattan Psychiatric Center. He enjoyed being active and spending time outdoors. He especially loved skiing, golfing, and fishing.
He is survived by his loving wife: Janet Ravida; children: Michael, Kim, and Alyssa; sister: Anna DeFeo; nephew: Joe DeFeo, and niece: Darcy Gilchrist.
Visitation will be held at Wanamaker and Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901 on Friday, May 30, 2014 from 4pm - 8pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church in Suffern, NY on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 10am with the interment to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery in Rockland Lake, NY. In lieu of flowers, Walter’s family requests for donations to be made to Doctors without Borders or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
