On Wednesday, August 10, 2022 Mr. Wilford Edward Bumby at 80 years young, of Sloatsburg, N.Y. passed away. He was born in Knoxville,TN to Father, Richard Bumby and Mother, Elizabeth Breeden. He was kind and loving brother to 9 siblings.
Ambitious Wilford enlisted in the Army in 1959. He retired after 20 years of service as a Military Police Officer earning a Purple Heart a Bronze Star Medal and Army commendation medals. Wilford, better known as Ed had a deep love of nature and animals. He took the time feed any animal that visited his yard. He loved and cared for his 4 dogs Nellie, Cody, Odin and his baby, Sheldon. In his spare time he enjoyed working on old cars, especially hot-rods. He was a great mechanic and people would always look to him for honest advice and help. Our beloved humble Dad was someone who enjoyed sharing time with others. He always made time to say hello to everyone and offering to help where he could.
Wilford is survived by his son Robert Bumby, Barbara Babinski and his sister Shirley Dean Turpin and several nieces, nephews and his close friend Tamiko Sergio. He will be forever missed and remain alive through our wonderful memories of such a kind and loving man.
