Joe was my buddy - he taught me a lot about life. I enjoyed talking with him about football, children, parents, just about everything. So sorry to be so late with my response - I did not know he passed. Bless his family which he loved dearly!!!

I did not know Mr. Cox well on a personal level. I met him several times while visiting with my parents, but usually only for a few minutes. What I do know about him is that he provided transportation for many years for both my father prior to his death in 1993 and then for my mother for many more years up until he could no longer do so. Sometimes he would drive my mother about 100 miles in order to meet me halfway between my home and hers so that I would not have to drive all the way to her home for her to visit with me. There is no telling how many times he took my parents to medical appointments or to get groceries. There is no telling how many times he brought in the mail and the daily newspapers for my mother while she was away visiting with our family. Many times after I brought my mother back home after an extended stay with my family, the very first phone call she would make was to Joe to let him know that she was back home.

I am grateful for all that Mr. Cox did for my parents over these many years, and I can only imagine that my father and Mr. Cox are having quite a conversation now that neither of them have any more need to see a physician or rely on some other human being to provide them with transportation!
