Bibs served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and again in the Korean War. He learned to be a tailor in the Navy while stationed in London, UK, and returned to the U.S. to pursue the trade. Bibs rose in the industry, to become a plant manager for Jonathan Logan in Walnut Ridge, AR, manufacturing women's clothing. From the moment he first saw his future wife, he was smitten for life. He was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather. Bibs enjoyed golf, traveling, and living life to the fullest with his family. He was also an amateur geologist and rock collector, and designed jewelry for his wife and daughters incorporating the precious and semi-precious stones he collected. Bibs applied his skills as a tailor making clothing for special occasions for his children, fixing bridesmaid dresses on his daughter's wedding day, and even repairing treasured stuffed animals for his grandchildren. He particularly loved to cook for his family, whether waffles for breakfast, ravioli for Christmas, or his extra special secret recipes for meatballs or ribs for dinner. Bibs valued all of the finest things in life that were worth "ten thumbs up", be they an extra-long meal with family and loved ones, quality fabrics and clothing, a good bottle of wine, or spoiling his grandchildren. Perhaps the best story he ever told: "Once upon a time. The end."
Bibs was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Donna Marie Colaianni; and his brothers, John Colaianni and Donald Colaianni. He is survived by his wife, Edith Colaianni; brother, Larry Colaianni (Dorothy); his children, Valerie Brown (Kelton), Albert Jeffrey Colaianni (Margaret), Janine Sherman (Steven Sherman MD), and Gregory Colaianni (Mary); his grandchildren Kristen Brown, Julia Sherman, Scott Brown, Michael Sherman, Rosie Sherman, Gabriel Colaianni and Lucas Colaianni.
