ALICE MORGAN GRIFFITH, age 88, born April 18, 1925, in Mexia, Texas, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2013. Alice was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who will be greatly missed by those who loved her, and by those whose lives she touched. She enjoyed a full life of travel throughout the world with family and friends. Alice was an avid golfer, tennis player, and a bridge player extraordinare. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, a member of the Delphians, and a member of Sugar Creek Country Club.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Charlton Griffith; daughter, Judy Nelle Griffith; and by her parents, Urban and Fern Morgan. She is survived by her daughters, Annette Griffith (John Bezecny), Ellen Kobdish (G. Charles), Katherine Ghorbanian (Sia), and Susan Kelly (Tom); seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her sister and brother; aunt; and many other loving relatives and friends.
Friends are invited to a visitation with the family from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land (Williams Trace Exit). Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at Christ United Methodist Church, 3300 Austin Parkway, Sugar Land. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 22, 2013, at Oakland Cemetery, 117 Bradshaw St., Terrell, TX.
The family wishes to thank the many wonderful doctors, nurses, and caregivers, especially Marcia and Shebon, and the wonderful entire staff at The Crescent for taking such loving care of our mother.
