Bennie attended the University of Mississippi before building a successful career as a mechanical engineer in the oil and gas industry, which took him all over the world.
In 1979, Bennie married the love of his life, Pamela Dube. Together they built a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories.
An avid outdoorsman, Bennie loved fishing, hunting, spending time at the gun range, and watching classic westerns. He will be remembered for his honesty, quick wit, and fun loving spirit.
Preceded in death by his loving parents, Bennie Malone Hughes and Gene Willis Hughes, and his sister Jaime Lee Hughes, Bennie is survived by his beloved wife, Pamela, daughter Lindsay Van Tassel, sons, Bennie and Matthew, son in law, Kenny Van Tassel, his precious granddaughter, Kenley Van Tassel, and his beloved sister, Susan McCarty.
Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of strength, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
