

Betty passed away peacefully on May 12,2025 at her home in Missouri City, Tx.
Betty was born in Turney, Missouri on July 16, 1932. She was preceded in death by her parents Katie and Dean Silvius, her sisters Midred Ward, Helen Ragan and her husband Harold Honn.
Betty was a graduate of Northeast High School in Kansas City, Missouri. She was employed out of high school by Emery Bird Thayer department store in Kansas City, Missouri.
She married the love of her life, Harold Honn, in 1957. They were married in Ottawa, Kansas and honeymooned in New Orleans. Harold and Betty were married for 67 years. During their time together they had two sons, Kevin and Scott. Betty resided in Missouri City, Tx. for the last 2.5 years.
Betty was a devoted wife and mother of two boys. She was the backbone of the family for many years as Harold traveled much of the time on business to provide for the family. Betty and Harold moved a total of 14 times in their life together. Betty volunteered for many years as a teacher’s aide and a hospital volunteer. Betty was always there to shuttle the boys to practice, games or any activity they were involved in and never complained about the inconvenience. She was an immaculate housekeeper and always had a homecooked meal on the table for dinner. Betty was a gentle and peaceful soul but a fierce defender of her family and loved ones.

Her son Scott and wife Joni of Missouri City, Tx.
Her granddaughter Lauren of Rogers, AR
Her grandson Michael of Bella Vista, AR
Her great grandson Lucas of Rogers, AR
Her niece Deana and husband Jim Eidson of Springdale, AR
Her sister-in-law Shirley and husband Chuck Eisenbise of Sabetha, KS.

During her golden years Betty enjoyed travel, gardening and volunteer work. Betty loved traveling to Cabo once a year, for more than 20 years, with Harold and friends to spend time with their extended family in Mexico. Betty was also very community minded where she served over 50 years in Garden Clubs in Texas, Virginia and Arkansas. Betty was also very involved with Bella Vista Community Church where she chaired different programs and met a lot of wonderful lifelong friends. Betty also attended The Bridge church in Sugar Land where she was involved during the time she lived in Missouri City, Tx.
Betty will be loved and missed by all of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
There are no services planned at this time. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to Houston Hospice in Betty’s name.
