Beverly Gail Knowles Martinez, born on July 29, 1952, in Galveston, Texas, passed away on September 22, 2025, at the age of 73.
She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Rick Martinez; her daughters, Megan and Amanda; and her brother, Barry Knowles. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Betty Knowles, and her brother, Bryan Knowles.
Beverly met the love of her life, Rick, in 1979 while they both were working at Metcalf & Eddy. Their connection was instant, and they married in 1980, beginning a love story that lasted a lifetime. Together, they raised their daughters in Alief, Texas, before settling in Sugar Land in 1997, where they built a home full of love, laughter, and lifelong friendships.
Professionally, Beverly wore many hats during her career at Anderson Greenwood, later known as Pentair, where she retired as Corporate Payroll Manager. She was known for her leadership, loyalty, and for the deep care she showed to her colleagues.
Outside of work, her proudest roles were being a devoted wife and mother.
Beverly was passionate about her family and friends, her greatest treasures. She loved traveling, cooking (especially anything spicy), volunteering, and her favorite pastime: gambling, which she called her “happy place.” She was often told she should have been a food critic. She was a beloved regular at her favorite restaurants: Brandani’s, Perry’s Steakhouse, The Rouxpour, and Vic & Anthony’s at the Golden Nugget.
Affectionately known as “Mama Bev” to many, she had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel cared for. Whether it was family, friends, or strangers who quickly became both, Beverly gave her time and heart to those around her.
Beverly lived life on her own terms, fully, joyfully, and without regret. Her vibrant spirit, generosity, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Settegast-Kopf Company at Sugar Creek, located at 15015 Southwest Fwy, Sugar Land, TX. The service is scheduled for October 2, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
