Beverly "Bev" Saunders, 96, of Stafford, Texas, formerly of Hesston PA and Findlay, OH passed away on the 9th of April 2026. She was born July 31, 1929, in Saltsburg, PA to the late J. Dale Carnahan and Mary (Deemer) Carnahan. She was preceded in death by her husband (Mel) of 65 years, whom she married on October 10, 1959. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Dean Carnahan and her daughter-in-law Janel (Brockel) Saunders.
Bev is survived by her sons, John Saunders of Pine Island, MN, Thomas (Sally) Saunders of Tucson, AZ, David (Sheryl) Saunders of Sugar Land, TX; seven grandchildren (Jeremiah, Jenna, Jaclynn, Jacob, Zachariah, Isaiah, and Tori) and six great grandchildren (Lillian, Lewis, Londyn, Cora, Henry and Zion).
Bev graduated from Bell Township High School in Salina, PA. She then earned a business degree from Robert Morris School of Business in Pittsburg, PA.
In 1956, Bev and Mel met while working as a procurement clerk and an engineer at the Westinghouse Blairsville Plant in Mel's lunchtime Bible Study. The love and devotion to each other and our Lord, displayed early in their marriage, characterized the rest of their lives. She was the iconic 50's lady - in home decor, in the kitchen, in the church, and in the community. While the iPad kept her connected, her traditional values stayed rock solid. She loved studying the Word of God, teaching Sunday School, leading Cub Scouts, and a fan of all the boy's music and sports. She loved all plants, dogs and children, never losing the joy of the simple things in life.
An internment will take place in Westview Cemetery, Avonmore, PA, at the convenience of the family.
