

Billie Kurz McCord, 88, passed away on August 11, 2020 after a 6-week long hospitalization with Covid 19. She was born November 23, 1931 in San Antonio, TX to Gus W. and Alline Bennick Kurz. In her early years she lived in Henly, Von Ormy, and Somerset while her family struggled to make a living during the depression. She graduated from high school, married, and started her family in Somerset, TX. She then lived in San Antonio before moving to Missouri City in 2006 to be close to her daughter and family.
She is survived by children, Curtis Jackson (Patsy) of Driftwood, TX, Paul Jackson (Ginger) of Huntsville, TX, Kathy Jackson Brient (Jim) of Missouri City, TX, Bradley McCord of Dallas, TX and stepsons Tom McCord (Cindy), John McCord (Julie), and Jim McCord. She leaves a legacy of 12 grandchildren, Wade Jackson (Angelica), Lorie Jackson, Jordan Gibennus (Mark), Jared Brient (Robin), Ryan Jackson, Vanessa Williams (Curtis), Caleb Jackson, Josh Jackson (Lauren), Grace Huff (Nathan), Jonathan Jackson, Bethany Brookins (Joshua), Collin McCord, and 13 great-grandchildren as well as 7 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Mary Lou Klemcke, and Lucille Macy. She loved interior design, nature, and RV travel. She had a heart for animals and adopted many stray dogs and cats through the years. She had an avid interest in physical and mental health and worked in vitamin sales for 15 years and led and participated in emotional recovery groups. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and a compassionate friend and was active in her church all her life.
Her family is grateful for her caregivers Graciela Alarcon and Mavis Ifegwu whose care allowed her to live independently for the last 5 years. Memorial service will be Thursday, August 20, at 10:00 AM. The service will be streamed live at Sugarland Methodist Church, https://www.sugarlandmethodist.org/worshiplive . Only immediate family will be attending the service in person.
