Billy Black, while surrounded by his family, passed away on April 18th, 2025, after a long illness. Bill was born to Elizabeth Hayes and Joseph Black on March 3rd, 1934 in Kansas City, Missouri. He attended high school at Paseo High School and served in the Navy as a Gunner’s Mate Second Class during the Korean War. Now that Bill has passed into the arms of our Lord, his physical life on earth is over, but it is the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for him.
Bill did not always have a relationship with God but credits his salvation as the catalyst for changing his life. In his personal testimony, he describes himself as “rough and ready for about anything” and “quite the party guy”. Church was an occasional requirement to please his wife. However, after he accepted Jesus into his heart during a revival in 1971, he completely changed his lifestyle. It was not a popular choice with his current friends and coworkers, but this filled the void he knew was missing from his life.
Bill worked in heavy construction most of his life and had the uncanny ability to fix anything and everything around the house. Bill was a life-long fan of KC Royals baseball, KC Chiefs football, and KU basketball. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, jeeping in the Colorado mountains and mushroom hunting.
Bill joins his parents, daughter, and sister in heaven. He is survived by his wife Vicki; his brother Mark Enyeart (Raytown MO), his children Melanie ( California) , Joe Hutchinson Ks), Cheryl (Denver CO), and Jessica (Huston TX); his 6 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
