

Carole Cottrell Chevalier (79), passed away peacefully at her home on July 19, 2022, surrounded by family. She was born October 11, 1942 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Evelyn Trudeau Cottrell and Louis Albert Cottrell, Jr. and preceded in death by her parents, sibling Louis A. Cottrell, III and longtime companion Donald Kaufman.
Carole, born Carole Rose Cottrell, was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She treasured her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. Her heart was filled with love, always smiling and maintaining a positive attitude. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, home decorating and gardening. She also loved being a member of her ladies’ Bonanza club.
She attended school at Valena C. Jones, Corpus Christi Catholic Elementary, Xavier Preparatory Catholic High, and completed her education at the Straight Business School. After completing her education, Carole worked for nearly 30 years in the Orleans Parish School System, where she was beloved and highly respected by her many colleagues, including various school superintendents.
Carole was previously married to Ezebe J. Chevalier, Sr and is survived by their children Ezebe J. Chevalier, Jr. (Elizabeth), Christopher Chevalier (Tracy), Andre’ Chevalier (Lindy), Susan Chevalier, and Louis Chevalier; their grandchildren Brandon, Nathan, Justin, Alexandra, Sarah, Amanda, Zachary, and Ashley; as well as her nephew Louis G. Cottrell and a host of relatives.
A visitation for Carole will take place at 9:00 a.m. at St. Laurence Catholic Church in Sugar Land, TX on Monday July 25, 2022, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will take place at St. Louis Cemetery No. 3 New Orleans, LA. at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday July 27, 2022 In lieu of flowers, the family humbly request your consideration in donating to the Alzheimer’s Association.
