

CHARLENE “CHARLIE” BUCHANAN WILLIAMSON, age 69, of Donna, TX, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014. Charlie was born in Mr. Pleasant, TN, on July 22, 1945, the daughter of Kenneth and Daisy Aaron Buchanan in Summertown, TN, where she graduated from Summertown High, in 1963. She continued her education at Middle Tennessee State University, graduating with a Master’s Degree in 4.5 years. Life then steered Charlie to Baylor University in Waco, TX, for a teaching position in 1968, where she helped start the women’s gymnastics program. On August 22, 1968, in Clarksville, TN, Charlie married Dale T. Williamson, of New Orleans, LA. Charlie and Dale lived in Waco until August 1969. They moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL, where she taught at Plantation HS. Charlie and Dale then moved to New Orleans in 1971, where she taught at Higgins HS and later Erate HS. Charlie had a son, James D. Williamson IV, in New Orleans in 1975. Shortly after which, Charlie and Dale moved to Missouri City, TX, and had a daughter, Heather Williamson, in 1977. Charlie left Missouri City in August 1999, after she and Dale divorced, but they continued to remain friends. Charlie traveled all over the nation, lived in many different places over the years, and finally settled in Donna, TX. Charlie was full of life. She loved traveling, dancing, playing cards, tennis, and golf.
Charlie was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Buchanan; mother, Daisy Aaron; and brother, Frank Buchanan. She is survived by her son, James Williamson; daughter, Heather Williamson; sisters, Darlene Boshers, and Jo Anne Norman; ex-husband, Dale Williamson; and many other close friends. Charlie will forever be loved and missed.
A Memorial Service for Charlie will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, August 2, 2014, at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land (Williams Trace Exit).
