Cheryl Lyn (Duerr) Kester , 66 years young , originally from Dayton, Oh. and recently of Richmond Tx., died suddenly and unexpectedly, late on August 20th. Valiant and heroic efforts by EMS and hospital staff for over 4 hours were unable to revive or stabilize her.
Cheryl Kester had recently relocated to the Del Webb, 55_plus community near Richmond, Tx. She quickly made many new friends there with nearby and other neighbors. As a lifelong animal lover and caregiver, she was quick to make friends with residents and their pets, which regularly walk by in the neighborhood.
She is preceded in death by her most beloved mother Cecilia Duerr, and Father Irvin Duerr, of Dayton, Ohio.
She is survived by her adoring spouse of nearly 48 years, Jeffrey Kester, her beautiful daughter Jacquelyn Holsinger of Phillipsburg, Oh., and three wonderful grandchildren Abbey, Cassie and Christopher. Cheryl is preceded in death by her grandchild Samantha, who the Lord called after 31 days. in 1990.
Cheryl enthusiastically followed her husband Jeffrey during his career progression from Dayton to Albuquerque, Midland, San Angelo, Abilene, Dallas and Houston. Over the years Cheryl enjoyed the outdoors, camping, boating and travel.
Along with her husband-partner, Cheryl established and operated two successful businesses for 20+years. These businesses provided gainful employment opportunities for their many happy employees and allowed Cheryl to use her genuine friendliness, honesty and cheerfulness to win customers and friends. Because of these businesses, Cheryl and husband Jeffrey were able to regularly travel throughout the USA and the Caribbean and Mexican beach resorts. These travel adventures and exploring new locales provided her with great pleasure.
In addition to her wonderful new neighbors and friends, she would want to give a special shout-out “good-bye” to the wonderful “Furry” friends she knew and cared for :: Clyde, Inky, Minnie, Sid, Reba, Winston, Dillon, Jack, Bo, and so many unnamed others.
This lovely and very special lady will be missed by all who knew her, even so briefly.
