CLETHA JANE PERRIN-McALLISTER, Ed.D, went to her Lord and Savior on August 23rd, after a valiant 8 ½ year battle with cancer. Jane was born on September 8, 1940, in Trousdale, Oklahoma. She was the 9th of 10 children, born to Bertha and Claude Pierce. She graduated from Shawnee High School, in Shawnee Oklahoma. She received her Bachelors, Masters, and PhD, from the University of Houston.
Education was Jane’s lifelong love. She spent 5 years teaching and 29 years as a Principal in Fort Bend ISD. After retiring in May 2001, Jane worked as a Field Advisor at Alternative Certification for Teachers (ACT Houston) for 7 years.
Jane’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren, Megan and Ryan. She had been a member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church for 34 years and took great joy when she fulfilled her spiritual quest upon joining Merry Ministries. Her optimism was evident as she found an outlet for her enormous faith and touched the lives of many.
Jane is survived by her husband, Butch McAllister; her sons, Fred Perrin II and his wife Julie, and Keith Perrin; daughter, Amber McCoy and her husband Matthew; grandchildren, Megan Perrin and Ryan Perrin; her step-son, Shannon McAllister and his wife Dawn; step-grandsons, Jacob, Ian, and Brenden McAllister; sisters, Christine Mann and her husband Wiley, Carol Everett; and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their most heartfelt thanks to Dr. Jubilee Brown for her compassion that provided comfort during Jane’s illness, as well as the wonderful nurses with Odyssey Hospice Care.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 25th, in the Chapel at Sugar Creek Baptist Church, 13333 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, with a reception to follow. Interment will be private.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bob Bass, Bob Deas, Pat Dominic, Gary Hawkins, Jimmy Harris, Steve Mann, Wiley Mann, and Earnest Taylor.
