We have been neighbors of David and Alice for twenty three years. The one thing that our family could always expect was a friendly wave from David. During our major weather incidents during the last few years we really developed a friendship that was more than a friendly wave. We thank God for David’s life and for his positive impact that he made in the lives of so many. We will continue to pray for Alice and David’s family .

David was fierce in his beliefs.  He was patriotic, loved Texas and the Astros.  He was fun and will be missed every day.

David Ball will always be "Mr. Bud" in my mind.  I have chosen a photo that represents something he loved almost as much as he loved Alice.  It speaks to who he was as a person and represents him well. He loved our Country, especially Texas.  He will always be remembered lovingly and as a true Texan.

Many memories of hunting and fishing. We will miss you Bud. 

David was an excellent coworker. I’m attaching a good memory from a Thanksgiving Luncheon at work. God give the family strength and  David rest in peace 

I knew Bud for almost 50 years. I remember when we met. August 1974. How do I remember that? We were both starting College at UT, and we were randomly assigned to be roommates. 

I remember that day. I got checked in and to the room first. Bud was late, of course. After unpacking one of the other new residents from down the hall stuck his head in the room and invited me to go get some lunch. I said “sure.” I was thinking, “college might be fun.” We went to a Pub on the drag and got burgers and a pitcher of beer! Texas had lowered the drinking age to 18 one year before. I was thinking, “college seems fun.”

When I got back to the dorm room, Bud was unpacking. We introduced ourselves, and I picked up the phone to call my dad and let him know that I had arrived safely. When I told him my roommates name said to me, “Ask him what’s his father’s name?” Turned out our dads were at UT Law School at the same time after the War. They knew each other down in Houston. Small World. 

Anyway, Bud said he wanted to check out this Armadillo World Headquarters, and did I want to go? I said “sure.” College was definitely going to be fun. 

We saw Alvin Crow and the Pleasant Valley Boys that night. And many other nights too. College was a lot of fun.

The picture is Bud and Alice in front of The Broken Spoke in Austin. We met there in May, 2016. We were celebrating turning 60. Who was playing? Alvin Crow.

You might have died owing me money, I lost track, you win ;)
But you definitely died with me still owing you fun, I win ;)

We are still in shock over Bud’s passing.  His jokes and conversations will be missed at the many dinners and visits we've shared - for Christmas, New Year's and countless other occasions.  Bud had a big heart too. Not knowing Marcel very well, John's son from Idaho, he offered to take him golfing during his visits to Texas.  He will be missed by so many.

David was not only my friend but also my mentor when I started working for Missouri City in 2013. He said “Daniel, its government. Don’t try to understand it, don’t try to change it just roll with it.” For the next number of weeks he not only taught me about construction but more specifically the inspection process as well. We worked closely together for 5 years until he retired.  We became very close friends not only individually but also as couples spending time together at plays, concerts and many dinners. It was also during this time that I learned of David’s love and frustration with golf.  We used our proverbial 1 mulligan per side rule but David loved “do-overs.”  Although I knew this wasn’t acceptable for any formal outings it made our rounds much more enjoyable.  I miss him already and am a bit saddened he didn’t get a final “do-over” here on earth.
As I have mentioned, David was my mentor, my friend but most importantly he was a believer.  During one training trip we took together we shared childhood stories and our decisions to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  I am confident we will see each other again in heaven.
To Alice, Marianne and I want you to know that we will be here for you in the difficult days ahead.       
Romans 10:9  If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Damas and I wish to express our condolences to the families.  Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

After we hired David as a Building Inspector at Missouri City, he quickly became an asset to the Permits & Inspection Dept. His experience in the Commercial Construction Industry, in Construction Management, was very helpful and he soon became our Commercial Project Inspector. 
When he decided to retire in 2018, I tried to persuade him to stay for a while longer, but David had made up his mind. 
After David retired, we stayed in touch and would call each other to talk about a number of things; Golf, fishing, dove hunting, The Astros and of course what was going on in the City. David was an outstanding employee and my friend. 
RIP David, We missed you when you left the City and now even more.

I have  known David and Alice  for so many years I  was their housekeeper.    David was such an inspiration to me no matter how I was feeling ....even exhausted  the man made me laugh!   He was such a kind person with respect for everyone!  He will be so very missed from everyone's life especially mine he was a true friend! 💕 

Back in the day when Bud visited his dad in Conroe and went sailing with his family. 

Fond memories of some of our fishing trips. Gone but not forgotten.  

David was a dear friend.  I never imagined him not being with us for many more years but I’m so thankful for the good times and memories. I’ll miss our seafood outings and I’m so sorry we didn’t make it to Caddo Lake…our next trip in the planning. Love you David. Here for you Alice. ❤️

over our 40-plus year friendship, David and I shared a few great memories…I’m gonna’ miss him.

Bud was an awesome person.  Such fun to be in his company. we had alot of belly laughs whenever we got together.  I loved his sense of humor

Marrying and sharing a beautiful relationship together.  the southern Mississippi man and the tell it like Is Buffalo NY gal.  What a match made in Heaven and they will reunite once again at the pearly gates of Heaven

So sorry for your loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers.  So many fond memories over the years. From our younger years and hanging with the Mississippi crowd! Through good times and bad.  We have some stories for sure! Love to all! Bud….you will be missed. Fly high until we meet again!
