David Kaiser

From an early age, David's life was marked by energy, determination, and a spirited love of competition. As a boy, he found joy in being active — swimming, skateboarding, and riding bikes — and carried that enthusiasm into the many sports that shaped his youth. He attended St. Francis de Sales Catholic School and later St. Thomas High School, graduating in 1995. During those years, his commitment to teamwork and discipline was evident on the football field and through his time on a bowling team alongside his brother, Eric. Beyond the activities they shared, David cherished his role as a brother to Larry Jr. and Eric.

David went on to earn a degree in Business Management from the University of Houston, where he played football, and later a master’s degree in education from the University of St. Thomas — a choice that reflected where his heart truly was. He spent more than fifteen years as a special education teacher, serving students at several schools throughout both Alief ISD and Lamar Consolidated ISD. He had a rare gift for seeing potential in those who struggled to see it in themselves.

Beyond the classroom, David gave generously of his time as a football coach at St. Thomas High School, St. Pius X High School, and Alief Taylor High School. He understood that the greatest victories are not always found on a scoreboard — he taught his athletes to work hard, support one another, and carry themselves with integrity. His enthusiasm for the game extended to his years working as a suite concierge for the Houston Texans, where his professionalism and authentic love of football found a natural home.

In 2012, David married Shanna, and born from their union, Hezekiah and Malachi — his greatest joy. He loved watching them grow and find their own strength, and they will carry his voice, his laughter, and his belief in them throughout their lives. Grounded in his Catholic faith, David made certain his family worshipped together each week — a commitment that reflected his belief that family and faith were inseparable.

David was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Helen Kaiser. He is survived by his wife, Shanna; his sons, Hezekiah and Malachi; his father, Larry Sr.; his brothers, Larry Jr. (Ruba) and Eric (Zoe); and his nieces, Hannah, Julia, Olivia, Eleni, and Victoria.

David will be remembered for the dedication, heart, and quiet conviction he brought to everything he did. He is deeply missed by all who knew him.
