Dear family and friends. I am so sorry to read about Delphine passing. She was a friend, a wonderful colleague and a great manager.  We developed wonderful memories from the moment she joined Acer.  Delpine was gentle, smart and compassionate.  I loved our meaningful conversations.  My sincere condolences.

Dear Delphine, You called me  in mid December, like always, and we chatted about things that had been keeping us busy ... I never expected that it would be our last conversation. These days I reflect and reminisce about the good times we have spent together, singing, praying to God, and chatting. While your good friends are remembering you, I am happy for you that you have finally met with your beloved Jesus. So Long my dear friend.

In eternal memory of our cherished sister Delphine:
Thank the Lord for His grace! I was able to meet and know you during the final 3 years of your sojourn on earth, becoming such intimate and precious spiritual companions together. Out of your tenderness and strong love for the Lord, I savored the sweet aroma of Christ's divine attributes and human virtues.
Though physically fragile and weak, you persisted in opening your home for small group meetings, young people's meetings and always seeking to give hospitality to the saints. Week after week you would carry your electric keyboard to the meeting hall and also staying to clean the bathroom, never excusing yourself despite your physical pain caused by fluid in your abdomen.
You endeavored to prophesy every Lord's Day and attended the prayer meetings almost every Wednesday night. You even went with the sisters Saturday mornings to preach the gospel at the park, praying and passing out gospel tracts together. You also served if you could in the Topstone Bookroom, setting such a great example as a person fervent in spirit and serving diligently.
Whenever I think of you, I can only praise the Lord. You are just like that Mary whom Jesus praised. You poured forth the costly ointment upon the Lord. You kept the great and first commandment, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind."
May God bless your posterity abundantly forever.

Dear Beautiful Delphine,

I am totally shocked and feel sad that you left us so soon.  However, it's comforting knowing you're resting in the arms of God, and no more pain.  I'll always remember your beautiful smiles and soft voices till we meet again.

Dear Delphine:

I am so shock to receive this bad news. I remember in  January when I came to USA, I wrote a mail to ask your health condition. You told me you are better, and asked me to visit you at Texas.  I told you that this time I am inconvenient and may be in the coming summer vacation, I can go to see you.I didn't expect this bad news.

From the university, we are good friends and we have very good time together. Now a lot of good things come to my mind suddenly.

I remember that we two went to your house in Hua Yuan New City to make dumplings several times. Those are  very good memories.  I also remember that when my families and I came to USA to study in 1985, you  picked us to  your house in San Jose form the airport and let us lie down on your bed to have a very good sleep. A lot of other good things now all became memory.

You are such a kind,peaceful,considerate and gentle person. Now you are by the side of God, and I believe you will always be happy there.

I remembered once I asked you a question when we were young. Why does everyone in your family call you Shan Shan?  I asked, and you replied with that soft voice of yours: My mom had a difficult time gave birth to me, said I was late, everyone in the family was waiting for me those several days.

 

We were classmates for all three years of junior high school. You were always the model student of the class. Everyone was taken by surprise that someone with your prestigious background would come to this quiet campus sitting at the city's farthest edge. You became the pride of our school, a star child who always wears the sweetest smile, teachers adored you and classmates embraced you.

 

I remembered once you told me when we were much older that the only time you got punished in class was because of a writing assignment. The teacher asked us to write who we want to be when we grew up. You wrote that you wanted to be a housewife and got chastised because of that. I laughed and told you that I also remembered that assignment. My answer was to become a bus conductor. I didn't get my hands lashed for that, however. I guessed our teacher saw different potential in us. Three years later you got into the best high school in country, and three more years after, the National Taiwan University.    

 

It is as if all those memories happened just yesterday. The warmth of our childhood lingers even though the times grow old. I will always miss you Shan Shan, my friend. The Lord has now taken you into his sweet embrace and bygone are the days of sickness, worry and pain. Your faith and strength have set an example for us all, and in God's eternal Kingdom, the New Jerusalem, shall we meet again.

Thanks to my dearest little Aunt,

I still remember last summer break, which was in between my promotion from junior high to high school, my parents arranged for me a vacation in Texas. I had a chance to spend a whole month with my little Aunt Delphine's whole family, including Uncle Kerry, Cousin Abraham, and Cousin Arthur. During that period of time, the whole family of Aunt Delphine treated me warmly and nicely and took me for sightseeing in a few places.

At such time, the physical condition of Aunt Delphine looked like there was no problem. She kept smiling on her face every day. She prepared for us breakfast, took Oak and me for walks, drove me to Houston for class, and picked me up from class. What a joyful and unforgettable period of time that was. However, I never thought that it was the last time I would see Aunt Delphine. Although I feel really sorrowful in my heart, but I think such a person who keeps close with the Lord as Aunt Delphine did, there must be eternal rest in the Lord's arm.

I originally look forward to the visiting of Uncle Kerry and Aunt Delphine from the United States this February. However, I never thought that the Lord would take Aunt Delphine so suddenly. I sincerely wish that Aunt Delphine will rest in peace in the Lord's arms.

I met Delphine and her family in the church in Anaheim.  I have known her for the past twenty years.  She was meek and gentle.  Her words were always mingling with grace.  She loves to share her personal and spiritual experience with us.  In her presence, our church meeting is always warm, open and having precious fellowship.

She was a faithful follower of our Lord Jesus Christ.  One time she went on for a business trip.  She called a taxi to attend a Sunday service in a church she found in yellow page.  I was quite impressed by her fervent seeking of the Body of  Christ.  

She had two hobbies: attending church meetings and play piano.  As long as her health permitted, she never missed a church meeting.  Whenever she saw a piano, she would sit down and play hymns for us so we can sing along.  Her house was always filled with the music of praises.  Even though her days were filled with battling of her illness, but the music never had stopped.

Lupus seeped in the prime time of her life.  It stayed with her for the past sixteen years.  She was always hopeful and persevering through many challenging moments.  During this time, she dutifully and prayerfully raised her two sons--- Abraham and Arthur, and fulfilled her responsibility as a housewife. 

There were times she sighed and feeling helpless as if the cross was too heavy for her to carry.  Through the prayer of saints, she overcame and the smile still stayed on her beautiful face. 

How much I would miss our dear sister.  But I know she is in the bosom of our Lord right now.  She had finished her course and she had fought the good war.  I know she will be smiling in the paradise when Abraham and Arthur continue her faith and love Christ and the church.

Dear Uncle Kerry, Abraham, and Arthur,
You are in our hearts and our minds during this difficult time. We will always remember Aunty Delphine for her generosity and kind heart. We will sincerely miss her. We wish you comfort and peace in knowing that she has gone to a better place and will always be looking over us.

Dear Delphine, You have fought the good fight and you have finished the course, you have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for you the crown of righteousness. You are such a good model for us-in serving the saints, in spirit praying, in speaking Christ in the meeting and serving through playing piano in the meetings. You always have a pretty smile on your face even you don't feel good. You will be greatly missed by all the saints.

Dear Kerry, Abraham and Arthur,

Think of you during this difficult time.  We take comfort in knowing that you have the support of many family members and friends.

Sister Delphine always dispensed life and offered interceding prayers for others. She loved to serve the Lord and members in the body despite her poor health. She liked to invite people to her home and to shepherd the guests. Those around her can sense the sweet fragrance of Christ emanating from her. We truly miss our dear sister Delphine.

May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and hope in grace comfort brother Kerry, Abraham, Arthur and all family members.

I still remember the first time met with Kerry and Delphine in the bank lobby when you just moved from California and visited us.  I remember Delphine's kindness and modest smile. Now Delphine has gone to the heaven,  I hope her  eternally happy at there.

Dear Delphine, my little sister, February 5, 2016:

I was expecting your coming to stay in our home this coming Chinese New Year when I received Daisy's call Tuesday morning (January 26) here about your leaving us.  I said, “But she said she was coming.”

XingXing decided to postpone telling Mom the news till one day later because it was too cold that day.  When Kerry called Mom the next morning, she had tears all over her face, and couldn't speak for two minutes.  But then she called Jesus' name, she calmed down and knew God had his better timing.  It would be better than if this happens on the airplane or when you were back in Taiwan.  You left in the peaceful sleep in the hospital so we heard. 

The brothers and sisters from the Church in Houston called the brothers and sisters here in Taipei and since that Wednesday afternoon here, so many brothers and sisters in the church have come to visit Mom.  According to XingXing, it was like the Chinese New Year with so many people paying visits.  Each time when I was there, I bumped into church brothers and sisters.  They sang hymns and prayed with Mom.  Mom has been well-taken care of so don't you worry. 

Now that Abraham and Arthur have become independent, they can take good care of themselves.  God knows the time for you to rest.  You had always loved God so much and Abraham has taken over your place to love and serve God.  Before, you wanted to have a child and prayed to God.  God gave you not only Abraham, but also Arthur. 

Douglas and Jocelyn wanted a child.  I knew how you got Abraham so Mom and I prayed and Mom and I even told Douglas and Jocelyn to pray to God when they came back to Taiwan last time.  I don't know if they did but here is the news.  Four days after you left us, Douglas and Jocelyn got a new born baby girl and we got a cute granddaughter, who has a cute round face just like you.

I should have felt joyful for the birth of the granddaughter but I have been overwhelmed by this sadness of your leaving.  These days when I sit alone thinking about not being able to talk to you face to face, seeing the smile on your face, taking trips and enjoying meals together, ...... it seems so unbearable. 

I can only be comforted by the thought that you are in Jesus' arms now and you are also with Dad.  One day we will meet again by Jesus's side. 

You had always been considerate, always thought about other people more than yourself.  It is a great loss for all the people who were loved by you and those who always love you.  We miss you and we love you dearly.

Dear Sister Delphine,  What a privilege for us to be those God predestinated, called (during which we met), justified, and on the way to be glorified (where we shall meet again). The body of our humiliation will  be transfigured to be conformed to the body of His glory. We will see Him even as He is.
Dear Brothers Kerry, Abraham and Arthur,  May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope in grace, comfort your hearts.

Dear Delphine, It was a great shock to learn of your passing. You have become a strong-willed and enthusiastic figure in my life. As we bonded together, your spirit and cheerfulness always shone through. I will never forget the enthusiasm and sincerity you have brought to our friendship.

We send our heartfelt condolences to you the family of our dear sister Delphine. We were saddened to learn of her home-going to be with the Lord she loved and served. I, Kaye, enjoyed getting to know Delphine by serving with her at the piano in the church meetings. She was always so willing to serve and did so with a sweet and sincere love for the Lord and His Body. We shall miss her persevering spirit in spite of her illness and the experiences of Christ she had to offer.

Dear Delphine, my little sister-in-law,
It is inevitable we have to go thru life's phases of germination, growing, flourish and eventual withering, but we really hate to see you leave a bit early.  We are shocked, could not accept, numb, and then start getting to accept it...
In those years of acquaintance, you always gave us the lasting impression of smart, elegance, grace and sincerity. Could not recall anything remotely close to a bad thing coming from you in so many years. You have so many friends which can tell what a pleasant personality you have.
Life is full of unexpected ups and downs. But you seems to be able to handle them quite well no matter what life was throwing at you.
Now you have gone to Lord's heaven, to where your heart belongs to, to a peaceful land where your Christian belief has so strongly intertwined with your daily life. You can rest at ease that Kerry, Abe and Arthur will carry on their successful life with your legacy.
We will be forever treasured with many good old fond memory encountered in our life.

Dear Sister Delphine, The brothers and sisters from the Church in Eastvale were hoping to see you in person this June during your son Abraham's graduation.  We wanted to thank you personally for giving your son to God to serve Him.  We see in him a kind and thoughtful young man who loved the Lord, and we believe you were his pattern.  Thank you, dear sister for your years of labor and shepherding.  Please rest now for a while.  We will see each other again.

Dear Family of Delphine, Though we only know you through Abraham your son/brother, we enjoy the Lord's grace which we believe flowed to him through your wife and mother. I am saddened to hear that our dear sister Dalphine had left us. I am also privileged to have known such a wonderful member in the Lord. Although Dalphine had some health issues for a while, but she did not let it stop her from loving and serving the Lord. She was truly a pattern to us. She shall be missed.

Dear Sister Delphine, Lord took you in such a fast way, so we didn't get chance to say goodbye. We don't understand but we know you have rest in Lord and Lord is taking care of you. We miss you and your Piano!   I am so grateful for Lord putting us together in the same district so I got chance to know you last year when I moved to Cypress TX. Every Lord's day, I could see you and many times I sit next to you. You shepherded me into church life in Houston in many ways. Your Happiness, Lowliness, and Meekness will be in our memory forever.
