Edith Dorothy Colaianni passed away Friday June 22, 2018 in Houston, TX. She was born March 22, 1932 in Clairton, PA to Joseph Eszlari and Julia Anna Hrabosky Eszlari. Edith grew up in Clairton with adoring parents who always made her feel special, a trait she carried on with her own family to the end. Derived from a long line of hard working, determined and proud Hungarian women, she learned to be a beautician working in her mother’s shop and pursued this work for much of her adult life. She met her future husband “Bibs” while still a teen and won his heart instantly. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who mastered the art of loving each child and grandchild equally while making each feel uniquely special. Edith’s life was full of captivating stories, which she shared truthfully and enthusiastically with her grandchildren nightly without the least bit of embellishment. She loved to entertain, to fill the home with family and friends, and even an itinerant “count”. In her house, there was always room for one more guest at the table, no matter the hour, and grandchildren’s dachsunds were always welcome on her lap. Edith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert Earl Colaianni; her brother Elmer Eszlari; and her daughter Donna Marie Colaianni. She is survived by her children Valerie Brown (Kelton Brown), Albert Jeffrey Colaianni (Margaret Colaianni), Janine Sherman (Steven Sherman MD), and Gregory Colaianni (Mary Colaianni); her grandchildren Kristen Brown, Julia Sherman, Scott Brown, Michael Sherman, Rosie Sherman, Gabriel Colaianni and Lucas Colaianni. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at St. Mary’s Catholic Chapel – Rice University, 1714 Rice Boulevard, Houston, with the Rev. Henry Walker, Celebrant. For those desiring, donations in Edith's memory may be made to Easter Seals Arkansas Center for Training and Wellness, 3920 Woodland Heights Rd, Little Rock AR 72212.

What glorious memories you have shared in your photos of one of my favorite classmates at Clairton High School ,1950 ! It is wonderful to see what a blessed life she shared with her loving husband and family through the years. Edith was always kind and friendly, and I admire her courage during her times of illness . When we spoke via telephone in recent years , she always told me about her great family.
May you take great comfort in your faith and in joyous memories of beautiful Edith.
Love and prayers,
Mark C. Nagy

With deepest sympathy,
