Edward Joseph Callahan III

Edward Joseph Callahan III, born on November 19, 1938, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025, at the age of 86. A resident of Sugar Land, Texas, Edward was known for his dedication and service to both his nation and community.

Edward served as a proud member of the Navy, demonstrating his commitment to protecting his country. After his service, he continued to make a difference in the lives of others as a police officer in New York City.

He was united in marriage with Joyce Elizabeth Callahan, and together they celebrated 64 years of marriage. Edward is lovingly remembered by his family, which includes a daughter, Nancy Piazza, and a son, Edward Callahan IV. He is also survived by his sisters, Grace Hurley and Dorothy Dinnigan, as well as his cherished grandchildren: Elizabeth Callahan, Rebecca Callahan, Edward Callahan V, Christian Piazza, and Nicholas Piazza. Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Callahan Jr. and Grace Smith.

A graveside service to honor Edward's life and legacy will be held on June 20, 2025, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm at Houston National Cemetery, located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.
