Elizabeth (Betty) Anne Lenderman, a resident of Richmond, Texas, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at her home at Sunrise Senior Living in Katy, Texas at the age of 79 years old. Betty was born January 21, 1940 to George and Sybil Isensee in La Porte, Texas. At her mother's side, Betty acquired a thirst for knowledge about the natural world as well as music, art, and literature. After graduating from La Porte High School, Betty went on to receive a Biology degree from The University of Texas in Austin in 1961. After graduation, Betty married her college sweetheart Gary Lenderman and began her career as a Medical Technologist and a steadfast patient advocate. One of Betty's many passions was gardening. She was involved in the Houston Amaryllis Society over the years and loved Amaryllis! Betty's love of gardening was passed along to her husband and children and was the foundation of the family's garden center businesses, Enchanted Forest and Enchanted Gardens. In addition to gardening, she enjoyed playing the piano, cooking, crocheting, reading, writing, and watching her favorite History Channel programs.
Betty's caring nature, intellect, and quick wit made her a teacher of sorts wherever she went. She always inspired others, whether teaching students piano, sharing her vast medical knowledge with coworkers (and even her own physicians), or showing kindness and appreciation to her recent caregivers.
Betty will be greatly missed by all, but particularly by her family. Betty is survived by her husband of 57 years, Gary Lenderman, daughter Judy Lenderman, sons and their spouses: David Lenderman and Sue Watson, Jason and Vanessa Lenderman, Danny and Danette Lenderman, Joey and Mandy Lenderman, and 12 grandchildren: Kristi Lenderman, Justin Jones, Sarah Lenderman, Garrett and Lauren Lenderman, Clay Lenderman, Ming Lenderman, Reed Lenderman, Gavin Helfrick, Maya Lenderman, Jaxson Lenderman, Max Lenderman, and Jeremiah Lenderman.
Betty's family would like to thank her kind and nurturing caregivers and nurses at Sunrise Assisted Living in Katy for their support and tender loving care.
