Gertrude Marie York

Gertrude Hebert York ended her two-year battle with Mesothelioma, and went home to the Lord, on Sunday May 27th, 2018. She was born September 30th 1934 to David and Isabelle Hebert in Port Arthur Texas where she resided through high school. She wedded her husband Edward Lee Roy York of 56 years in 1961 and spent the next 30 years raising her family in Houston, Texas. She worked for Shell Oil Company in Houston for 16 years in the Data Processing department. After her retirement, she and Lee Roy built their dream home in Onalaska Texas where they enjoyed their 6 grandchildren, who were the lights of their life. She was an avid sports fan with season tickets to the Oilers for many years and followed the Astros from their inception. She was preceded in death by her parents David and Isabelle Hebert, brothers Jimmy, Earl, Bobby and Harry Hebert and sister Doris Chorn. She is survived by her husband Lee Roy, Sons Edward (wife Gwen) and David (wife Jonna) York, daughter Andrea (husband Anthony) Harrow, grandchildren Ryan Samuel, Bailee (husband Matt) Henson, Kaitlin (husband Michael) Bunsen, Samantha and Christopher York, Brad Harrow, great grandchild Emma Jean Henson and brothers Tom and Eddie Hebert. Biography

Gertrude Hebert York ended her two-year battle with Mesothelioma, and went home to the
Lord, on Sunday May 27th, 2018. She was born September 30th 1934 to David and Isabelle
