Gloria Jean McCracken

Gloria worked in Huron during high school and, after graduating from Huron High School in 1959, worked for several years as a telephone operator in South Dakota, Houston, and Denver. She was the loving wife of Dudley J. McCracken for 50 years, being married on February 5, 1968 at the Applewood Valley United Methodist Church in Golden, CO. She and her husband lived in Golden, at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD, in Corpus Christi, TX, and Arvada, CO, before moving to Houston in 1975. She especially liked cooking, sewing, painting, and crafts.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her nephew, Christopher H. Crowell. Gloria is survived by her husband; her son, Mark J. McCracken of Houston; brother, Gary J. Crowell of Philadelphia; sister, Georgean W. Dickson of Golden, CO; nieces, Danielle J. Padgett, Dawn E. Dacheff, and Amy E. Crowell; and nephew, Darin C. Dickson. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt and our memories of Gloria will forever live in our hearts. She is at peace with our Lord.

A private graveside service will be held on March 9, 2018 at the Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery in Wheatridge, CO with a memorial service to be planned for later this year.
