

Born in Lafayette, LA, she graduated from St. Cecilia School in Broussard, LA and Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, TX with a bachelor’s degree in Education. She taught first grade at Kashmere Gardens Elementary in Houston.
An avid reader, she worked as a librarian for six years with the Fort Bend County Libraries and, after retirement, served as a volunteer. She also gave her time as a resale shop volunteer at The Blue Bird Circle, an organization that supports research, clinical trials, and treatment for children with neurological disorders.
Those who loved her will remember her intelligence, mirthful laugh, kindness, excellent cooking, stacks of books, needlework, and Sabino Art Glass collection.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ernie Mills; sister Catherine Bourque Tauzin; sister-in-law Linda Guidry Bourque; nephew Todd J. Bourque and his spouse Ronlyn A. Domingue.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow M. and Henrietta Peltier Bourque, and her brother, Jules Bourque.
Her ashes will be interred at Broussard, LA’s Sacred Heart Cemetery in a private ceremony.
