

HELEN LOUISE TAYLOR WATSON was born on April 16, 1922, in Akron, Ohio, to John and Verna Gurd Taylor. She left us to join the Lord's heavenly choir on February 24, 2013.
Helen graduated high school in 1940 from Parker City High School, and completed course work at Kittanning Business College in Pennsylvania.
She married Robert Earl Watson on October 22, 1950, in Blackwell, OK, and together they began their sixty years of marriage living in Tulsa, OK, until Robert passed away on June 4th, 2011. She then moved to Sugar Land, TX, to be with her son and family.
Helen enjoyed singing and playing music for all of her life and was an active choir member for many years at Boston Avenue Methodist Church in Tulsa. She also sang in various choir groups and played the violin in several community orchestras, including one at Oral Roberts University where she also worked as a secretary. Following retirement she taught line dancing at the nearby community center and at her church. After her move to Sugar Land, she continued to enjoy making music by playing her favorite hymns on the piano.
Helen is survived by her son David (Linda) Watson; her grandchildren, Lara and Emma Watson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 1, 2013, at Sugar Land First United Methodist Church, 431 Eldridge Road, Sugar Land, with the Rev. Phil Grose, officiating. Private interment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery, in Tulsa, OK.
