Jakob Anthony Jacques’ incredible life journey began on August 28, 1997 in Houston, Texas and that journey inspired and uplifted so many in just 23 short years. His life journey transitioned on October 5, 2020 in Houston. Jakob lived an amazing life, where he was very successful, often found motivating and encouraging others to reach far beyond what seemed possible. Jakob was a very proud graduate of the Class of 2017 from Ridge Point High School in Missouri City, Texas. He was known throughout his high school career as the Ridge Point Panthers “number one fan”. Jakob was currently a sophomore at Houston Community College, where he was working on a Finance degree, planning to follow in his father’s footsteps by working in the financial markets. Jakob loved sports. Jakob was an enthusiastic fan of Lebron James and the Lakers and also of Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He enjoyed music of many genres, attending concerts and also traveling. One of his favorite genres of music was EDM and he was so excited to have been able to attend the Electronic Daisy Carnival (EDC) in Orlando. His love of music will be a feature of his Celebration of Life. Jakob was known for his fashion forward looks and creating a spirit of laughter and joy among his family and friends. He loved his 1950’s restored truck and attending car shows. His greatest love in life was spending quality time with his family and his cherished friends. Jakob’s greatest gifts were of charity and generosity to others. He shared his physical challenges in life as an example that with hard-work, determination, and perseverance, that a person can accomplish anything. He frequently told others, when they were facing a challenge, to remember that “this is just a minor set-back for a major out-come”. His positive and encouraging example in life has made a strong impact in the lives of many other young people and adults alike. Jakob is deeply loved by his father Jake Jacques and Kristin, his mother Shellye Smith, his brother Gabriel, his sister, Bianca, his grandmothers, Rosie and Gloria, as well as his step sisters Ryland and Taylor. He also is very loved by his uncles Mike and Jerry and his aunt Velia and his god father Alonzo and his family. Jakob, due to his incredibly outgoing personality also has a very large circle of friends and extended family, who cherish him so very much. Jakob’s grandfathers, Joe and Randy preceded him. Although Jakob is no longer with us in a physical presence, his life, his spirit, his compassion, and his generosity, are embedded deeply within each of our hearts and will live throughout time eternal as an example of how to be a genuinely good person. He will continue to touch others, as he generously was an organ donor and gifted others with the gift of sight and life. His continuing touch will affect others as his dad, Jake, is establishing a foundation to do good and offer support to others in Jakob’s memory. In honor of Jakob, make someone laugh today, share a random act of kindness, or encourage another to reach success. This world is much better for his being with us. A Celebration of Life, including music, reflections, and Liturgy will occur on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek at 11:00 O’clock in the morning. My sincerest condolences to the Jacques family. May the good Lord keep you covered. Heaven has surely gained an angel to play drums for all of the other angels. I was Jakob's nurse back in 1999. He was my very first ventilator patient and I loved him from day one. At age 2, Jakob gave me my very own nickname: "LuLu." From an early age, he was a sharp dresser with the coolest hair. My heart is shattered in a thousand pieces, yet I know his soul is at peace. Love always----LuLu

RIP My heart is broken to hear of Jakob's death. I remember so well in 1997; I was his first night nurse. Jabok and I shared a special bond because he was honest and loved life. He loved his family, music, sports and enjoyed meeting people. My deepest condolences to the entire family. I will leave these words of comfort, "Thou art with me, thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me" Psalms23:4. " Let not your hearts to troubled, neither let them be afraid," John14:27 "Lo, I am with you always" Matthew28:20

I couldn’t expect this to ever happen so soon and I’m pretty sure no one did. This picture right here I took of Jakob is a picture that me and Jakob laughed at for so long .i have so many memories with Jakob like one of them is I would always play video games with him and I would always beat him and one time I got him so mad when I beat him he hit me in the face and I couldnt stop laughing. Jakob has brought along a lot of good memories like the time me Bianca and Brandon stayed up until 3:00 in the morning(sorry grandma) prank calling Ihops and all kinds of restaurants and Jakob saying someone dragged him out of his wheelchair in the bathroom and asking for 50 pancakes. I really wish I could be there and if I could I would be there, Jakob is someone that no one will ever forget and I’m gonna miss my bogut<3

I've struggled daily to accept your transition Jakob. My thoughts of you and all of our shenanigans just keep flooding my mind. You were one of a kind! I can't express enough how you inspired me and others to live life and go for your dreams. You did just that in so many ways! You were purposed for that purpose! Mission Accomplished. Always in my heart Mookie! To the family: It was my honor and privilege to know Jakob and be a part of wonderful family that loves him dearly. My prayers are with you all daily. Jakob lived a blessed life and his best life, beyond his years. Be Encouraged! Antoinette M🙏🏾
